Trooperville straddles the St. O’Connor River and is a trade center for the Southeast. Major employers in the city include Railroad and Insurance companies. Several major military installations are contained within the city limits along with a very active port facility. Professional Sports has recently landed in the city with the expansion of the city's stadium. It is now home to the NFL Trooperville Canines and has helped to bring the city's downtown to life during the fall and early winter months. Transportation into and out of the city is provided by several major air carriers at its small but adequate international Airport. Two interstate highways converge in the center of the city and it is a major rail/port transshipment hub for the state and the Southeast.
CITY HISTORY
Trooperville is named in honor of the Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol, who for many years, have served as counselors for Boys State.
