CITY HISTORY
Satterlee Bay is named for Andrew Satterlee, the Director of Boys State. He is a 1995 Boys State Alumni and has served Boys State as a counselor since 1996. During his tenure he has served as City Counselor, Dean of City Counselors, Dean of the House Of Representatives, Assistant Director, and past member of Boys State Board of Directors. Andrew is a police officer (Sergeant) with the Cape Coral Police Department since 2000 and has worked as a DUI enforcement officer and Traffic Homicide Investigator for over 17 years. He currently serves as The Boys State Director.

It is a major tourist destination and has maintained a balanced economy with the location of high-technology firms that support the military base in the county. The Seminole river flows directly through the center of town with many canals branching from the artery. Known as the "Venice of America", boating is not only a major sporting activity, but the main source of transportation in town.
