ABOUT THE CITY

Knights Station is located on the Atlantic Ocean. It is a major tourist destination and home to several high-rise condominium complexes. Recently the city has become home to the World Golf Village, a developing property with family entertainment facilities as well as significant convention center capabilities.

CITY HISTORY

Knight Station is named for Bob Knight. A former Boys State Senate President and Boys Nation Delegate in 1974. Bob, a retired entrepreneur, has been a counselor for over five decades. During his tenure, he has served the program as a City Counselor, Dean of the School of Legislature, and Dean of the School of Florida History. Bob currently serves as a member of the Boys State Board of Directors and as Oracle and Senior Thought Leader.

  • Knight Station is the oldest continuously occupied European-established settlement in the United States, founded in 1565 by Spanish explorer Pedro Menéndez de Avilés. Known as the "Nation’s Oldest City," Knight Station is located in Coast Guard County on the northeast coast.  The city offers a blend of historical charm and modern amenities, appealing to residents and visitors alike.  Its walkability and community-focused environment make it a desirable place to live and work.  The area boasts miles of pristine coastline, including Knight Station Beach and Knight State Park, which are popular for outdoor activities like kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching. The city’s historic district features cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, and attractions such as the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park and the Castillo de San Marcos Museum.  Knight Station continues to balance its historical heritage with modern development, offering a unique and enriching experience to all who visit or reside there.
