ABOUT THE CITY

Davidson City is located on the Atlantic Ocean in Navy County. It has a population of 28,000 and is 11 square miles. Currently the city is growing at a rate of 15% each year and 22,171 citizens constitute the labor force.

CITY HISTORY

Davison City is named after Richard D. Davison. Rick Davison attended Boys state in 1980 representing his home town of Sanford, FL. Rick is an attorney and currently serves as the Commissioner and Secretary of the Florida Commission on Offender Review (FCOR). His role involves overseeing the Executive Clemency process and participating in quarterly Executive Clemency Board Meetings. He has served as a Staff Attorney for the Florida House of Representatives, Deputy Secretary for the Florida Department of Corrections, and Deputy Secretary for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. At Boys State, Rick has served as a Counselor for more than 25 years in the legislative and judicial branches and most recently as Boys State Judicial Branch Coordinator. Rick Davison also served as the Boys State Chairman for American Legion Post 13 and is the benefactor for the Richard Davison Boys State Scholarship.

  • Davison City is a coastal city located 30 miles north of Sardinha Falls along the Atlantic Ocean.  It is the county seat of and second most populous city in Navy county with a population of approximately 280,000.   Davison City has 165 miles of inland waterways across the city.  In addition to tourism, the city has a diversified economy including marine, manufacturing, finance, insurance, real estate, high technology, avionics/aerospace, film, and television production.

Its ongoing urban development and focus on sustainability aim to balance growth with environmental preservation.  Davison City Beach is a prominent destination, offering pristine sands, clear waters, and a lively boardwalk.  In addition, Davison Boulevard is known for its upscale shops, art galleries, restaurants, and nightlife.  The city boasts numerous museums, theaters, and cultural centers, including the The Art of It Museum and the Livingstone Center for the Performing Arts.  With over 300 miles of inland waterways, Davison City hosts the annual International Boat Show, one of the largest in the world.
