ABOUT THE CITY
Commander Point used to be part of Good Haven. Several years ago, however, the citizens in Commander Point voted to leave Good Haven and form their own city. Commander Point is composed almost entirely of middle to upper class neighborhoods. They have more than seventy parks, more than any other city in the state, and are very sensitive to environmental issues. Crime is not yet a major problem in Commander Point. A small private university makes its home in Commander Point.

Commander Point is named in honor of the current Commander of the American Legion, Department of Florida.

At the turn of the 21st century, the citizens of Commander Point voted to leave Good Haven and incorporate their own city.
